Congratulations to the EBHS Cross Country team. The will to push themselves both physically and mentally was outstanding. The team successfully defended their Zone title winning their 16th Zone championship in 17 years. The following runners qualified for the Provincial championship in Red Deer next weekend: Grayden Tschritter, CJ Payeur, Kassidy Hart, Eli Lavoie-Pierzchala, Desirae Stuber, Justin Jager, Colton Robinson and special recognition to Sam Schick who is the Intermediate Boys Champions. Mr. Smith and Ms. McCubbin want to thank all the volunteers who came and helped, you were awesome. A wonderful thanks to Mrs. Howes who organized the team to get out to the event and at the event. As well, Mrs. Maser and family for the great concession and the RIOT running group.

<p>As a reminder, September 30th has been changed to a non-operational day for all students and staff in Prairie Rose to recognize the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. We encourage everyone to take the time to listen and learn from residential school survivors about the importance and significance of understanding this dark part of our Canadian history. In Prairie Rose, flags will be lowered to half mast from the evening of Wednesday, September 29th until the morning on October 1st. As mentors and educators, we have a role to play in supporting the education and calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Prairie Rose will continue to seek advice and listen to the guidance of our indigenous leaders in supporting this work.</p>
